Description
In the middle ages the clothing was already used for shaping the body. And for many ladies a supportive undergarment is indispensable. This supportive medieval linen bustier dress is suitable for smaller cup sizes. It fits snugly over the breasts and is adjusted with a cord under the breasts. On the side there is additional lacing for closing and bustier and adjusting it to the body further. The skirt is sewn with many pleats to the bustier, so it creates a high waist and accentuated hip. This style is found from the mid 14th century and onward.
The eyelets for the lacing are hand-sewn with a decorative buttonhole stitch. The seams on collar, armhole and skirt hem are hand-sewn as well. The cords for closing the bustier are made from wool and thus slightly flexible.
The visible seams are done by hand with linen thread. The invisible seams are machine sewn.
On request all seams can be done by hand or machine.
