The exceptional feature are the two-part cups that leave room for the breasts and are supportive at the same time. On both sides there is lacing for closing the brassiere and adjusting it to the body. The skirt is sewn with many pleats to the bustier, so it creates a high waist and accentuated hip. Such brassieres were unearthed in Castle Lengberg in East-Tyrol and are dated to the 15th century. -
