Description

The pakol is a Pakistani hat made from wool in natural colours (beige, grey, brown). The brim is rolled up, but can be pulled down over the ears in cold temperatures. So the pakol is fitting for all kinds of weather.

The pakol or Chitrali cap is a hat from Chitral in Pakistan. Today it is worn in Pakistan, Afghanistan and parts of India. The modern pakol – which this realisation is based on – is only known since the late 19th century. But the very similar Macedonian kausia is known since the time of Alexander the Great and has possibly been around since 400 BC. Pakol and kausia are not historically linked as far as is known.

This means the pakol is not historically correct for the European middle ages, but can be an alternative for fantastic & creative portrayals. It is said there have been some rangers and druids wearing a pakol.

For once this piece has been sewn completely with the sewing machine. Handsewing is available on request.
