Recently I had a discussion why I went through all the trouble of embroidering my elven wedding gown by hand. A machine could do that just as well. And I have to admit I couldn't give a convincing answer at the time. Simply because I never saw a comparable work done with an embroidery machine.
After some time there are some news again. I haven't been idle in the last days. This time just a short update. I already posted the individual pieces of the cosplay for Daenerys Targaryen / Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. Now all of it together. Like this I sent it to Silver Wolfie / Joanna last week. There will be beautiful pictures soon. :)
It took some time (way too long...), but the embroidery inspired by Game of Thrones is finished. And I already attached it to the elven wedding gown. I also used shades of gold for the embroidery. The green thread is slightly yellow for example and the main motives are made from gold thread completely. [...]
This is what I've been working on the last weeks. The black one is a cosplay costume for Yennefer of Vengerberg from the Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski. It consists of a skirt and blouse and since she's mostly shown in wintery scenery there's also a cape, a corsage with a short train [...]
With a matching headdress everything looks better. So there is a bridal wreath to the bridal dress. I was allowed to whisk away the silk flowers from the basement of another very lovely lady.
Well, the skirt for the bridal gown is finished. I guess I exaggerated a bit with the train... The skirt has two layers and is finished with lace on the bottom. In the pictures there is no underskirt or bustle worn, so you can still adjust the volume.
