Embroidery: By hand or machine

Recently I had a discussion why I went through all the trouble of embroidering my elven wedding gown by hand. A machine could do that just as well. And I have to admit I couldn't give a convincing answer at the time. Simply because I never saw a comparable work done with an embroidery machine.

Wedding pillow

This wedding pillow I made back in summer for the wedding of a friend. She only told me to use the colours creme and apricot. And if you ask me for something like this, of course you get some retro flair.

The Witcher: Yennefer of Vengerberg

And another very fine project with Silver Wolfie. Actually Silver Wolfie is specialized on cosplay as a model and for thus we were looking for characters together, whose clothes would also fit my portfolio. On Yennefer of Vengerberg from the excellent The Witcher books and computer games we agreed almost immediately.

Oriental princess pictures & products

After some time there are some news again. I haven't been idle in the last days. Website and shop have been brought up to date in the background and now everything is ready so I can add new products and content. First the results of an older project. The fashion shooting with the following team: [...]

Embroidered collar & new server

Right now I'm in the process of moving the website to a new and above all faster server. So only a short update (and until tomorrow another URL, so don't be surprised). The Khaleesi/Daenerys Targaryen cosplay inspired by Game of Thrones is already with my model for a photo shooting. But shortly before I sent [...]

Complete Khaleesi Cosplay

This time just a short update. I already posted the individual pieces of the cosplay for Daenerys Targaryen / Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. Now all of it together. Like this I sent it to Silver Wolfie / Joanna last week. There will be beautiful pictures soon. :)

1900-1910 Ribbon corset

Waist Cincher 1900-1910 The Metropolitan Museum of Art 1905 The Metropolitan Museum of Art I fell in love with this ribbon corset from 1900-1910 some time ago. The Metropolitan Museum of Art owns some very beautiful specimens. Since I never saw or have sewn a pattern anything like it, I started [...]

WIP: Armour for Khaleesi

I'm still working on the cosplay for Daenery Targaryen resp. Khaleesi. Since she is riding into war quite often, I think she should have some armour. At least my version or armour. I try to avoid real leather whenever possible. Here I found some nice fake suede in two shades of brown. I reinforced it [...]

WIP: Classic Khaleesi dress

Since I finished the elven wedding gown, I was able to start with a new project. This time not only the embroidery is inspired by Game of Thrones, but I am sewing an appropriate cosplay outfit. The dress is one of the classical designs Daenerys Targaryen is wearing frequently in different versions. The dress is [...]

WIP: The embroidery is finished

It took some time (way too long...), but the embroidery inspired by Game of Thrones is finished. And I already attached it to the elven wedding gown. I also used shades of gold for the embroidery. The green thread is slightly yellow for example and the main motives are made from gold thread completely. [...]

WIP: Embroidered elven wedding gown

I already wrote that I've some more projects planned with Silver Wolfie aka Joanna (here is her Facebook page). And this time we chose an elven wedding as theme. Since only creating a new pattern with bell sleeves and a free back for the gown is waaaay too easy, I decided to try something new [...]

Spanish Rose photoshooting

I already wrote about my cooperation with Joanna aka Silver Wolfie Shizuma (visit her page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SilverWolfieShizuma). It is great fun and very productive. We already made four projects happen and the next two are planned. And now I finally made the time to present you the results of our first fashion shooting. [...]

Yennefer’s dress & Steampunk pirate

This is what I've been working on the last weeks. The black one is a cosplay costume for Yennefer of Vengerberg from the Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski. It consists of a skirt and blouse and since she's mostly shown in wintery scenery there's also a cape, a corsage with a short train [...]

The bridal gown is finished

Well, the skirt for the bridal gown is finished. I guess I exaggerated a bit with the train... The skirt has two layers and is finished with lace on the bottom. In the pictures there is no underskirt or bustle worn, so you can still adjust the volume.

Bridal corset

I finally started with the second shooting outfit for Joanna. You can see No. 1 here: Spanish Rose WIP We agreed to design a historical bridal gown. I was inspired mostly by Victorian bridal fashion and already started with the corset. The pattern for the corset belongs to a ball gown and sits very low [...]
